Almost 15 years ago, we discovered a battered black tube peaking out of a bin at a dusty antique shop. Opening the wooden stopper revealed a ragged crimson banner bearing a proud but faded H. It was a Harvard sports flag, a must-have accessory for every athletic event when FDR attended the College in 1900—now mysteriously all but forgotten.
