House Library News: Portraits and Archives

Dear Adams House Alumni,

Much has changed in the House in the past year: we have welcomed wonderful new Faculty Deans, the House is under Renewal, and the students are back from over a year away due to the pandemic.

With all this change, the House Library wants to take an active role in recognizing and displaying Adams House’s history. To do it right, we need your help with two projects: expanding the House Archives and adding new House portraits.

The House Archives are in the process of being revitalized and we invite you to submit your memories, photos, or ephemera to be part of the collection. Please feel free to submit to via email (santiagopardo@g.harvard.edu) or via postal mail at Adams House Library c/o Santiago Pardo Sanchez, 487 Adams Mail Center, Cambridge, MA 02138.

Claverly is newly renovated (please watch the video tour and send us your memories of living in or visiting Claverly!), and Randolph is months into construction. Thus the available wall space in the House has grown. Our Faculty Deans have begun the process of selecting and commissioning new portraits for these spaces. The first of these new portraits will be unveiled at Winter Feast this year. We want all of Adams House to have a voice in suggesting new portrait subjects that have not traditionally been represented on the walls of Harvard. We would like to invite you to submit any suggestions in the form below:
